Hi, we are Ben and Heather Bruce. Thank you for taking the time to read our letter.
We have been married for almost eight wonderful years! When we met we had no idea what great adventures were in store for us. We both knew we always wanted to be parents and when you meet the love of your life, like we did, you want that to start as soon as possible. We tried to conceive for many years without success. We would be lying if we didn’t say how hard that was for us, but it has strengthened our marriage in ways we never thought it could. Our desire to be parents has never wavered and we realize that the gift of adoption is the next step in our journey.
We talk about adventures and journeys a lot, and know that we would be able to provide an amazing life for a child. Through Ben’s service in the Army, we were able to live in different parts of the U.S. and an exciting almost four years in Germany. It was there our love for travel blossomed and has continued now that we are back in the good ole U.S. of A.
The opportunity to travel throughout Europe also awakened our taste buds and has developed into a love of all things culinary. Yes, we admit it, we are total foodies. We enjoy taking local cooking classes and sharing our creations with friends and family. We also enjoy lots of outdoor activities together and take every chance we get to head out to the trails whether it be hiking in the summer or snowshoeing in the winter. Ben especially enjoys fly-fishing and is on a quest to catch (and release) as many different trout species as he can.
Heather has spent her career as a Registered Nurse working mainly with families with young children. Her love of children has spanned her entire life and caring for women and children in the health care field has been a dream. She looks forward to using all her experience with babies and young children with her own child.
Ben has proudly served his country in the military for the past ten years. Most of his career was spent as a law enforcement officer. Through his training and experience as a criminal investigator he developed a passion for helping people, especially children, through tough times. He is now attending Colorado State University to complete his bachelors degree in International Studies.
We hope you can see that we have so much to offer a child. Our experiences and passion for life will be a wonderful environment for a child to learn and grow. We have warm, kind, and loving hearts to share with a child.
Thank you again for taking the time to get to know more about us as a family. We have the utmost respect for you and whatever decision you make it will be the right choice for you and your child. Best wishes and many blessings on your journey.
Ben and Heather
