Hi, we are BJ and Tracy and we wanted to tell you about ourselves. We also want to thank you for taking the time to find out more about us.

BJ is originally from the DC area, but fell in love with Colorado and moved here to be surrounded by the mountains. Tracy is from Idaho, and after dating long distance for nine months, BJ convinced her to move to Colorado so they could get married. That was eleven years ago.

We both work at an independent high school, BJ is in charge of the boarding program, and Tracy teaches history and manages the rock climbing program. We have a dog, Thunderpup, who is a standard Schnauzer that loves to run around and go on adventures.

We are very open and welcoming people, and we feel we have been incredibly blessed in our lives, and are excited for the chance to share those blessings with a new family member. We are excited to embark on this journey and look forward to the possibility of an open adoption.

Working with teenagers has given us great experience interacting with kids, and it’s a role we are very comfortable stepping into. We believe the best way for a child to learn how to interact with the world is to have firm boundaries with freedom within those boundaries. We know that kids need a safe environment in which to experience success and failure, so they can grow and mature.

We are people of faith, and believe that God loves all of his children, regardless of their faith, gender, sexual orientation, etc. and that we are called to show that love to everyone. We all have battles that we are waging that no one else knows about, and we strive to keep an open mind about people and meet them where they are.

Something that is important to both of us is making a difference in the world, and we want to raise a child with those same values. We also hope to instill in them a sense of curiosity and wonder, as well as a sense that every life has value, and the world is not black and white, but many beautiful shades of grey.

We sincerely hope you find the best parents you can for your child, and if you think that might be us, we would love to meet you.

All the best,
Tracy & BJ & Thunderpup the Dog
