Bryan & Carrie
As we introduce ourselves, we are thinking about what an emotional time this must be for you. We cannot begin to comprehend how you are feeling or what you are going through, but we do want you to know that we respect your courage and strength as you make this difficult and loving decision.
Since our engagement in 2014, we have wanted to be parents and start a family together. We have talked often about passing on our values and morals to a child. There have been many daydreams about school recitals, ball games and Holidays with a child and all the memories we had hoped to make. Unfortunately our path to becoming parents has proven harder than anticipated with many tears along the way. However, we feel that God has a plan for us all and adoption is the path He has led us to.
We live in the Denver, CO area in a family friendly neighborhood. We enjoy taking our dog, Zoe, on walks, spending time camping at our property in the Colorado mountains, traveling and hanging out with friends and family.
Bryan was born and raised in Pacific, MO (a small country town near St. Louis, MO) and he moved to Denver, CO in 2004. He is a Compliance Manager at a Financial Consulting Firm and outside of work he enjoys billiards, fishing, country music and baseball.
Carrie was born and raised in Rochester, NY, then lived in Charlotte, NC for 5 years before moving to Denver, CO in 2007. She is a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) at a local CPA Firm. Some of her interests include country music and dancing, reading, and watching movies.
Our marriage is built on love, honesty, communication and a mutual respect for each other. We have been together since 2013 and truly enjoy each other’s company. We value being kind to others and doing what is right and we will raise a child in this way. There is a lot of laughter in our home, but we also know how to be serious and communicate when there is a tough situation at hand. We balance each other well and look forward to being a team in raising a child together.
Family is very important to us. We both grew up with loving and supportive parents. Bryan’s dad passed away, but we are still very close with Bryan’s mom and Carrie’s parents. We have dinner with Carrie’s mom and grandpa on Sundays. Carrie’s mom lives about 10 minutes away and only works a few days a month, so she will be a wonderful babysitter when we need some back up. We talk on the phone with Bryan’s mom and Carrie’s dad on a regular basis and visit them both a couple of times a year. We also have good friends that live nearby, many of which have small children, so there will be plenty of playmates for the child in our lives.
Our experience with children will help us in raising a child. Growing up, Bryan’s mom babysat other kids and Bryan was constantly by her side helping. He also helped raise his niece and nephew, as for a period of time the family lived together in Bryan’s home. Carrie started babysitting when she was 13 and did so for multiple families for many years. We have also babysat for and played with many of our friend’s kids and grandkids over the years.
We look forward to growing our family and passing on our love and passion for life. Most importantly, we want to provide a child with a warm, loving environment in which the child will be encouraged to explore life and find what makes him or her happy.
