As we sit down to write this letter, our hearts are overflowing with excitement and emotion. We know these simple words are the beginning of our amazing journey to open adoption. We know you are looking for a wonderful home and future for your child and we’re looking to share our love and lives with another child in our family. Perhaps we are looking for each other?

Knowing this decision will possibly be the hardest you ever have to make, you have our respect for the strength and courage it takes to consider an adoption.

We fell for each other eight years ago at an adventure park and our lives have been an adventure ever since. Our children, Kyler, Ryley and Madison were brought into our lives through Jeff’s previous marriage. We believe that a family is built on a foundation of love regardless of how that family came together. Marriage is what brought us together, but being a family is what’s in our hearts. Although the kids are young adults and on their own, we stay connected and make holidays and family gatherings the best of celebrations.

We are blessed to be able to work from home, Elissa in the beauty industry and Jeff in the IT industry. This gives us the ability to travel and enjoy our hobbies: Jeff loves mountain climbing and snowboards, Elissa has a passion for singing and cooking. Our free time is spent hiking, biking, kayaking and exploring the world. We have always loved to travel and learn about other cultures and perspectives. Together, we focus on discovering how to continue keeping our minds and bodies healthy. Sharing these adventures with a child would be amazing, just as we have done with our 3 children.

We are excited to become parents again to a child. When we first started talking about growing our family, we decided on adoption as the only option for us. Jeff’s father and uncle were both adopted. They showed throughout their lives that adoption is a very special way to create a family filled with unconditional love and support. We believe it is a huge honor and privilege to become adoptive parents.

As parents, we believe it’s important to discuss adoption with a child from a very early age and we’re comfortable with the level of openness you would like to have. Your child would always be surrounded by a loving supportive family who encourages them to get dirty, find the facts, make hard choices, help people in need and believe in a society of shared success.

It’s hard to wrap up all that our family is and all that we hope to share with our child on a few pages. However, we are so grateful to you for taking the time to learn about us and are hopeful that we have more time to spend with you to share all of the little things that make us all unique.

One love,
Elissa and Jeff
