Dear Birth Family,
Our names are Matthew and Alexis and we are writing to you with deep respect and gratitude for considering us as potential parents for your child. We understand that this is an incredibly important and personal decision, and we want to share a bit about who we are and why we are excited about the possibility of adopting.
From the moment we decided to start our family in 2015, we knew that adoption would be an integral part of our journey. We are committed to creating a loving home where a child can grow up surrounded by warmth, care, love and support.
We met in 2012 in Washington D.C. and since then, our journey together has been filled with countless memories, adventures, and experiences that have shaped us as individuals and as a couple. We believe in the importance of family, and our strong relationship is rooted in open communication, shared values, and a commitment to each other's happiness.
A little about us…
Alexis grew up in Golden as the oldest of three sisters. She moved to Washington D.C. shortly after graduation from college to work in government and public service with a specialty in education and disability rights. In 2018 Alexis and Matthew made the decision to move back to Colorado to be close to her family. Since then, her sisters have had nieces and we enjoy spending time entertaining, taking care of them and watching them grow up. In addition to work, Alexis volunteers for charities across the Denver area and enjoys Broadway and all things Disney related.
Matthew grew up in Massachusetts and has one younger brother. He has two nephews and visits them as often as possible. His family also comes out to visit him in Colorado frequently. He moved to Washington, D.C. for graduate school and worked in the energy industry while there. Matt currently works in higher education coordinating student programs. He also enjoys civic engagement, following news and sports, running, playing golf and traveling.
As a couple, we enjoy spending our time together doing a variety of activities. We love exploring the Colorado outdoors with our dog Sam. Traveling is another passion of ours as we enjoy experiencing new places and creating lasting memories. At home we enjoy gardening, reading, and watching movies.
One of the things that excite us most about the possibility of adopting is the opportunity to share our family traditions. We look forward to teaching our child about the cultural practices, hobbies, and values that have shaped us. Whether it’s through celebrating holidays, engaging in creative activities, or simply spending quality time together, we are committed to creating lasting memories and meaningful experiences.
