GINGER DEREUS

DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

Ms. DeReus is currently the Director of Development for a local Fort Collins non-profit adoption agency, Adoption Dreams Come True. Her role encompasses fundraising, marketing, and community liaison work to promote and enhance the core mission of the agency: Building strong families through adoption to make dreams come true for the children.

Her professional career also included 4 years as a Career Transition Consultant serving clients in Northern Colorado (Ft Collins, Windsor, Greeley and Loveland). Her passion for making a difference in each clients’ transitional career journey was the baseline for the work she did for Lee Hecht Harrison.

After retiring from Qwest (now CenturyLink) in 2004, she directed the daily operations of a small land development company in Windsor, CO for 3 years.

Ginger has 25 years experience with Qwest Communications in various areas of telecommunications including multiple Human Resource disciplines: Executive Coaching, Labor Relations, Compensation, Sales Compensation (design and administration), and HR Generalist.

As Executive Director she was responsible for total HR support for three major business divisions; Consumer, Small Business and Large Business with over 13,000 employees and three executive officers within a 14 state region.

Her role as corporate Chief Bargaining Agent included leading the Labor Relations organization, collective bargaining for 8 contracts with IBEW and CWA, contract administration, case management and the grievance and arbitration process for 36,000 occupational employees. During her career, Ginger managed eight annual Sales Recognition events for both the Consumer and Small Business Sales and Service organizations, honoring up to 600 employees at a single venue. She was invited to speak in Chicago and Singapore on the topic of Recognition and Incentive Travel.

Ginger was an instructor for the LINK to Leadership program for the Denver based Women’s Vision Foundation, an organization dedicated to establishing enlightened leaders in corporations. She was the VP of Board of Directors and Chairperson for 3 annual fundraising events for Adoption Dreams Come True, a local non-profit adoption agency in Fort Collins, CO. Ginger has served on the Board of Directors as Vice-President for EWGA, Executive Women’s Golf Association, Northern Colorado Chapter, was a Mentor for the Junior League’s ABLEWOMEN program and was active in Northern Colorado’s WomenGive, a philanthropic organization focused on helping women in Larimer County achieve economic self-sufficiency.
