Celebrating the Dream Room: 18 Years of Love and Service
Dream Room Closed
Since 2008, the Dream Room has been a beloved part of Adoption Dreams Come True — a warm and welcoming space where love, generosity, and community came together to support children and families in need. It was born from the heartfelt vision of our late founder, Dorothy Fitzgerald, and the Dream Guild of Adoption Dreams True, who believed deeply that every child deserves comfort, care, and hope. With help from Rachel Werner, an adoptive parent and volunteer whose experience in baby retail brought the Dream Room to life, this vision became a reality. In the past few years, Laurie Scheib devotedly managed the Dream Room, pouring her time and heart into helping thousands of families feel seen, supported, and loved.
As Adoption Dreams Come True is preparing to move to a new office in June, we face the bittersweet reality that our new space cannot accommodate the Dream Room. While this chapter is closing, our mission continues strong — providing free birth parent counseling and adoption services across Colorado.
We are deeply grateful to all who have supported the Dream Room — especially our community donors and our major sponsor, CISCO — whose kindness and belief in our mission made a difference for so many children. To each parent and family who allowed us to walk alongside you with love and compassion, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We take comfort knowing that the Dream Room’s legacy will live on. All remaining items have been donated to Marisol Family St. Joseph -Fort Collins, a local resource room offering similar support to families in need. They are located at 101 N. Howes St., Fort Collins, CO, and can be reached at 970-581-8803. Marisol Family is open Thursdays 2–6 p.m. and Fridays 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
Though we are saddened to close this beloved part of our work, we celebrate the countless moments of joy, connection, and community that the Dream Room has brought over the last 18 years. From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for helping us make so many dreams come true.
